Celine's second English-language album, simply titled Celine Dion, is her most accomplished recording to date, with tracks from notable songwriters such as Diane Warren (Cher, Gloria Estefan, Linda Ronstadt) and Prince, who wrote the ballad “With This Tear” especially for Celine. The album is recorded in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Morin Heights, Quebec between October 1991 and February 1992.
The album prompts The Wall Street Journal to proclaim Celine as a "once-in-a-generation voice.”
Celine Dion comprises 13 songs, including “Beauty and the Beast” and “If You Asked Me To”, and covers a broad musical spectrum. The album ranges from the powerful gospel-tinged drive of “Love Can Move Mountains” to the sparkling funk of “Little Bit of Love” and to the haunting ballads “Nothing Broken But My Heart” and “Show Some Emotion.”
